China’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland Ambassador Jia Guide Meets with H.E. Ms. Zanariah Zainal Abidin, Permanent Representative of Malaysia

On October 8, 2026, Ambassador Jia Guide, Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations in Switzerland, met with H.E. Ms. Zanariah Zainal Abidin, Permanent Representative of Malaysia.

Ambassador Jia Guide stated that China and Malaysia are good neighbors, good friends, and good partners. Last year, President Xi Jinping paid a historic visit to Malaysia. The two sides reached new important common understandings on building a high-level strategic China-Malaysia community with a shared future, ushering in new “Golden 50 Years” for bilateral relations. China is ready to work with Malaysia on the Geneva Platform to implement the common understandings reached by heads of the two States, deepen practical cooperation, and jointly contribute to the solidarity and cooperation among the Global South and the improvement of global governance.

Ambassador Zanariah Zainal Abidin said that Malaysia highly values its relations with China. Both Malaysia and China firmly support multilateralism and cooperate closely in multilateral fora. I have recently assumed the office and am ready to closely coordinate with China on the Geneva Platform to jointly uphold multilateralism and advance global governance in areas such as artificial intelligence, telecommunications, public health and development.
